Tarte Shape Tape Radiant Concealer Is My New Staple for Glossy Eyes

Since switching from matte to dewy foundation, I’ve been looking for ways to get the same wet finish from my concealer. I do have bright finish concealers like Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer but not all radiant concealers give you that wet, dewy look all day. That’s why I’m so pleased with my latest discovery. Tarte launched a radiant and medium-coverage version of their iconic Shape Tape Concealer. And it’s been the most helpful product in my makeup routine. Ingredients

Skincare-infused makeup.

I feel like the formula is the secret to the concealer’s radiant finish and thin feel. Because it really feels like moisturizing skincare! Not surprisingly, the concealer packs hydrating hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, squalane, and moisturizing oils. And you immediately feel that plumping effect making your skin feel bouncy.

Texture and Consistency

Creamy.

The creamy consistency is what makes the Shape Tape Radiant Concealer so satisfyingly hydrating and easy to apply. It is very runny but at the same time, it feels rich, which is why you only need a tiny amount for a single layer of application. Instead of doing 2-3 swipes on each under-eye, I only apply one single dot under each eye and spread it out. The rich consistency spreads out evenly without thinning.

Coverage

Medium and buildable.

Tarte Shape Tape Radiant Concealer has medium coverage. With a single layer, I can smooth out my under-eyes, soften the appearance of my wrinkles, and neutralize discolorations. But because the formula is buildable, I can apply another layer to enhance coverage to freshen up my tired-looking eyes and cover up dark circles. When I use it for my face, I can completely cover up any redness on my cheeks and around my nose and I can even spot conceal blemishes. No foundation needed!

Finish

Visibly radiant, soft highlighter effect.

I can confidently say that this is one of the most radiant finish concealers I have ever used. And that’s a good thing. It gives the under-eye area that glossy, dewy highlighter effect. And it makes me look like I’m wearing a very expensive eye cream under my concealer! It’s an absolute must-have when you’re doing makeup to freshen up tired eyes and look more awake. When I apply it on my face on days I skip foundation, it gives me that wet makeup look without the grease!

Longevity

Long-wearing but can crease.

The concealer is waterproof, stays put for long hours and the coverage does not fade. However, because of the creamy formula, it starts to move a bit and crease under my eyes after a while. This is common with these types of bright finish, medium coverage products. The same thing happens with a foundation of similar features. Still, this isn’t something I mind. For me, it gives me a natural look instead of a heavily done face. If I’m too bothered with it, I pat my damp makeup sponge onto the under-eye area to fix those creases.

Blending and Application

A little goes a long way.

Again, the concealer is very rich. A single dot of concealer spreads out and covers up a lot of area. Thanks to its creamy consistency, it blends easily with a brush and sponge. If you’re new to these types of products, here’s what to keep in mind. Apply very small amounts and build the coverage slowly. Too much product can cause creasing under the eyes, especially if you have a lot of fine lines.

Verdict

An absolute favorite.

Tarte’s Radiant Concealer has quickly become my new favorite for its luminous finish, natural coverage, and ease of use. If you want bright under-eyes, you don’t need a brightening eye cream, an illuminating undereye primer, and a cream highlighter: you need this!
